PRESIDENT'S NIGHT WITH A DIFFERENCE
President Graham celebrates his year with an evening's excursion on the Bodmin & Wenford Railway
On Friday evening (27 June) 69 members and guests of the club met at the station platform of the Bodmin and Wenford railway in Bodmin for our annual President's evening. The outgoing President, Graham, wanted an event with a difference.
The journey on the line was certainly harking back to a bygone era as the dining cars were pulled along this heritage line by a steam locomotive built in 1916. Fine dining and wines were enjoyed whilst we listened to live jazz/swing music with the odd modern classic given the style treatment.
Everyone had a great time and we wish Graham all the best and he can now relax from his presidential duties. As our new incoming club president for the year Brian Budden stated on club handover the previous night, 'A very hard act to follow'
