Cottingham Day

Know Your Blood Pressure Event

On Saturday 2nd July we once again ran a very successful stand together with the Stroke Association at the Cottingham Day event. The event was organised by the community service committee and led by Philip & Janice Redshaw.

Anyone wanting their blood pressure taken would first discuss this with a Rotarian, who helped them fill out a consent form. A trained member of the Stroke Association then took their blood pressure and offered advice where necessary. In total 90 people had their blood pressure taken, with over 25 recommended to contact their G.P. for further advice. This proved to be an excellent way of increasing awareness of the need to monitor your blood pressure, and we all felt it was a day well spent.

We expect to run the event again in 2017
