After 10.5 man hours over 2 days we succeeded in gathering 7 brimming bags of rubbish plus several parts of a car!  Many thanks to our local volunteers and our members who joined in and worked very hard, in difficult conditions, at the side of the road.  Luckily the weather was fine and the ground not too boggy.

We had an opportunity for Litter Picking at 9.30am Sat 6th Sep 2014 meeting in the Histon Village Car Park (behind the hairdressers on the High Street) or on the Sunday if better.  The Histon Village group, co-ordinated by Cedric Foster, had requested support from the club.  He nominates an area for each team that needs attention eg the Gatehouse Road leading from the Busway to the Oakington Road, and along to Girton in one direction and Oakington in the other. Best to work in wellies or tough boots and bring gloves, brambles and nettles are involved!.

There were complimentary refreshments available on the Saturday, in the Methodist Church on the High Street, after the work was done.

Equipment available - pickers, bags with keep-open hoops, high vis Rotary tabards.

David A. co-ordinated our effort. He needed to know who was coming before the day to ensure enough equipment was available.

The Histon Village Group will next be Picking 6/7th Dec 2014 - check in with David A if you can come.
