2014 Christmas Collection.

Well that's it for another year. The clubs largest money raising initiative of the year is yet again highly successful. Over the four days of the collection in Eldon Square around 2800 was raised. to be shared between the Childrens Heart Unit at the Freeman (CHUF), the Northern Counties School and the Percy Hedley School.

8 different choirs and bands assisted with 19 different Club members helping by either shaking buckets/cans or counting money at the Brunswick Chapel. Thanks are due to Brian Cowan advised by Stephen Bell for his organising of the initiative, to Linda Turnbull, Geoff Brindle, Rattan Lal Jain and Bill Dunlop who acted as officers of the day and to Surinder Puri, Eddie Richardson, Peter Tracey, Bill Rigby, Peter Masterman, Rhod Dunn, Bob Holford, Bruce McNiven, Len Burns, Janet Fay, Peter Firth, David Houpt and Julie Armstrong. And lets not forget spouses Maisie Dunlop, Moira Houpt and Colin Fay who gave their support.

We also of course have to thank the generous members of the public in Eldon Square who contributed. Our collectors this year noticed that the public were even more concerned than usual to hear that their hard earned cash was being used locally.
