This Year's President

An introductory note from President Rob, our president for the Rotary year 2019 - 2020

I want to thank Ian Atchison for leaving our club in such good heart and I wish to carry this on into the future.

Over the years it is the fellowship within the club that has struck me as being our greatest strength and has enabled us to undertake the many and varied activities we have become involved with.

I have no intension of altering our club’s structure in any major way as it allows us to run our events effectively and smoothly.

The club needs some new and slightly younger members and we will be looking at this over the next few months.

I would like to thank Roger May for becoming Senior Vice President and look forward to working alongside him .

At the Club Assembly the Club Programme was outlined by our Committee Chairs and I will support them in any way I can.

Two recent events have already occurred with the joint Inner Wheel and Rotary BBQ held at Jenny Benford’s house happening at the end of Ian’s year and the Big Band Concert at Gilmorton a week later. Both were very enjoyable , the former slightly more relaxing than the latter, the Warwickshire Youth Jazz Orchestra Band can really let rip when they feel like it.

Coming up we have a joint meeting with the Lunchtime Club on the 29th July. Speaking to Sally Hollis I gather people start arriving at 12.15pm in the Greyhound bar with the meal starting at 12.30.  Please note that there will be no club meeting that evening.

Linda May and Tony Bailey have agreed that Saturday 26th October is the night for

Meals on the Move and the Christmas Meal is booked for the 16th December at the Golf Club.

It is an honour to be President of the club and I will support it and the membership to the best of my abilities.

Rob Blackman.
