For 50 years Santa has enjoyed making a pre Christmas visit to Daventry.
You have thanked him by giving his little helpers money and trusting him to pass it on to deserving  causes. One of the Charities chosen this year was the Daventry branch of Riding for the Disabled. (RDA) Known as The Hillcrest Group.
For 20 years, RDA Daventry with the help of a team of dedicated volunteers, has enabled about 12 disabled people a week to ride a pony.
The patient animals carry their riders around a mnage performing patterns and sequences at walking pace.
This activity is incredibly beneficial to the riders as the gait of a pony is the nearest motion to that of a human being. This helps to build up their muscles, promote confidence and enable RDA's clients to communicate and integrate.
Your donations will give the group financial security, buy more specialist equipment and enable it to expand and develop to assist more people.
So, when Father Christmas comes to your street sometime in December, please give generously. Thank you. Danetre Rotary Club.
