On Wednesday 17th December  28 members of Cambuslang Rotary Club and their guests enjoyed their annual Christmas night.  The evening started with an excellent 3 course meal provided by the Kings Park Hotel and judging from the laughter and merriment everyone enjoyed the round the table chatter and fellowship.

The Christmas message was delivered by guest speaker for the evening the Rev Gray Fletcher from Carmunock Parish Church, who started off in humorous vein with a version of the Christmas story containing some unexpected confectionary and chocolate references.  This was followed by a challenge to see which table could give the exact number of chocolate bars mentioned surprisingly the prize went to a table containing two other Church of Scotland ministers perhaps some insider knowledge helped??

Returning the subject to more serious matters, Rev Fletcher then directed his audiences thoughts to some of the more serious aspects of the festive season.  He reminded us that for many people in the UK and wider world Christmas is not a time of good cheer and we should remember them in the midst of our own celebrations.

The evening concluded with President Robert Dickie giving his vote of thanks and wishing all those present best wishes for the festive season
