Rotary 67th charter
On the 5th of February 2015, the Rotary Club of Swadlincote celebrated her 67th Charter; who could imagine that it has been 67 years since the Rotary Club of Swadlincote was setup? President Kim was determined to make this charter bigger and better than the year before last. First we were served. We hold our Charter at Conkers Waterside restaurant and food were gorgeous. First came out the starters. There was either a choice of Minestrone soup or the Pate. This was followed up with a choice of Beef with Yorkshire puddings, Salmon or Asparagus and Mushrooms in Filo Pastry. This was accompanied with a choice of Apple Pie or Lemon Meringue followed by Tea or Coffee all served with mints. As per usual the food was excellent. We then received an informative and humorous talk by our guest speaker on the 'History of England'. We had a large attendance and we all worn our best suits in this formal ceremony. The main highlight of the evening was President Kim's speech thanking all the Rotarians who aided in making this Charter one the best ever and thanks us all for a excellent year.
