Welcome to the Chester Centurion Rotary - a Satellite of Chester Deva Rotary Club
Our Club is very active in service in the Community. We run a Friendship Cafe called Woodies which is held on second Wednesday each month (except for August) morning 10.30 to 12 noon at Kingswood Building, Kingsway Chester. Please note that due to Covid 19 this is not currently running and we are hoping to get back to this at sometime.
We also collect spectacles from various sources and have been helped by Jane Smellie Opticians on Hoole Road, the spectacles are sent to York Antsy Rotary Club where they are refurbished by trained optomologists and ultimately taken out by them to African Countries where they run Clinics for a few weeks once or twice a year giving disadvantaged people in those countres the ability to be able to have better sight and ultimately a better life.
We help The Stroke Association based at Countess of Chester Hospital with a Know Your Blood Pressure day inside The Boots Store in Foregate Street Chester.usually September time. Again please note due to Covid this is not currently happening.
We collect used Crisps Packets which we donate to Dee Bank Special School in Chester who have an arrangement with a recycling Company and they receive donations from the Company forr these which helps with their projects at the school.
We recently started collecting our empty medicine tables strips as we understand these too can be recycled and we take these to Superdrup in Chester.
We make donations to The Salvation Army by way of food collections and knitted beanie hats which they distribute to the homeless/rough sleepers in the area of Chester and Ellesmere Port
