RYLA 2015 Report

On the 3rd April 2015,  20 young people attended the Rrotary Youth Leadership Award  (RYLA) Weekend  at Avon Tyrrell activity centre which is situated on the western eddge of the New forest.  The Rotary Club of Ewell sponsored two candidates who attended. Travel was ararnged by coach from Wilsons School to the centre stopping at Sunbury Station to collect more participants.
Rotary Youth Leader Awards is an endorsed programme by Rotary International to promote and encourage personal developement and leadership skills amongst young people. The photographs  show some of the outdoor activites.

The District 1140 Rotary Youth Leaderdhip awards weekend gives a unique experience into the difficulties and barriers experienced by different forms of communication . Practical examples can demonstarte these difficulties. Activities take place indoor and outside.  All outdoor activities are supervised by qualified instructors.

During the second part of the weekend the attendees are asked to list and discuss issues affecting young people. A further step is taken to ask who these issues should be addressed to and by waht method.
