President Bob Hamilton presenting a donation to Bolton Mountain Rescue

On the 14.08.2007 President Bob Hamilton and fellow Rotarians from the Astley club were welcomed on their visit to the Ladybridge Hall base of The Bolton Mountain Rescue Team by team leader Gary Rhodes and a number of his fellow volunteer members

The evening consisted of an introduction on the workings of the team then a short tour of the base.

Following a question and answer session, the Rotarians were then treated to a display and talk on the search and rescue equipment carried on the teams BM2 Landrover Ambulance vehicle.

President Bob thanked the team for the work it does within the local community, not just for hill walkers and other users of the local moorlands but also in the lowland search role for missing children and adults and he specifically mentioned the work the team does in support of the North West Ambulance Service (Greater Manchester Area) when they call on the teams services in busy periods to help them with general 999 calls.

In recognition of this excellent voluntary work President Bob presented Gary with a cheque in the sum of £2,500 to help the team continue its work

The Rotarians present had an excellent evening and as you can see from the photograph Rotarian Norman Lomas took a full part in the demonstration
