Speaker Meeting - Peter Bassett

Mon, Aug 24th 2015 at 7:15 pm - 9:00 pm

Peter Bassett is a leading producer of wildlife films, with many years experience with the BBC. He will be talking about his two most difficult assignments - filming penguins and filming the honey collectors. You may remember these items on television.

Peter Bassett is a specialist wildlife film Producer with a 20 year track record in world class ‘blue-chip’ animal behaviour films including the David Attenborough's landmark series Life of Birds, Life in the Undergrowth, Life in the Freezer. More recently, he has produced two programmes in Nature’s Great Events, the first series to combine a closely structured emotional narrative with Planet Earth production values.

Between blue chip projects he has focussed primarily on technology and graphics-led programming designed to attract new audiences. Lion Battlefield won the Wildscreen Panda for Innovation and the six part series Predators is considered by many as one of the most ground breaking wildlife series ever made.
