ROTARY IN MOTION - 2004/2005 CLUB ACTIVITIES & EVENTS (INCLUDING OUT-TAKES)

Ian Greig followed Currie Balerno Rotary Club for a year and recorded the activities and events on a video.  This very interesting and amusing video was shown to the Club to mark the 10 year Anniversary of this event. His 5/6 hours of video footage which had been initially taken was then edited to the 47 minute final version which was shown.

There was an Introduction by Founder President Bill Strang. John Wilson as President then explains the handover meeting and hands over to Rodger Thom. The main events of the year were covered and explained from the Harlaw Wildlife Garden, Weekly Duties, Chernobyl Children’s visit to Edinburgh, Currie Flowers, The Quiz Team in Action, visits to other Clubs and Welcoming New Members, The Douglas Moxey Trophy (Golf), Hosting the GSE Team from Australia, the Club at Christmas, The Objects of Rotary, The Burns Supper Guest Evening, The Strollers, Rotary International’s Centenary on 23 February 2005, Street Collections in Balerno & Currie, Balerno Gala, Rodger Thom’s commentary on his Presidential year, The  Gallery of Members and the final Rotary Toast – Rotary The World Over.

The out-takes proved to be very amusing as was a brilliant head to head talk between Doug Marr and Lindsay Craig in the Harlaw Wildlife Garden. There were a few gasps when the video ended with a ‘flying logo’ sequence. Very impressive!

Vote of thanks was given by Brian Buchanan.
