26/10/2007 - Scarborough Conference

CONFERENCE MEMORIES

The District 1280 Conference was held over the weekend of the 26^th /28^th October 2007 in Scarborough

The weather was reasonably kind to us given the time of year

From the Astley Club the following members attended with their partners

Rotarian Bob Hamilton Rotarian Alan Anders Rotarian David Rothwell Rotarian Peter Beenham Rotarian Robert Bates

The conference speakers were excellent the pick probably being Clarisa of the Two Fat Ladies Fame not only funny but a very intelligent and sharp lady

The entertainment was first class some of our more senior members were seen jiving to the beat of the 60s group the Searchers on the Friday evening (Well before my time!) Followed by an equally entertaining evening on the Saturday

If any member has not been to conference before I can recommend it this was my second visit and both Lynn and I have enjoyed both occasions
