Dressability is the name of a brilliant charity which provides a unique service for children and adults with disabilities as well as the over-65's.
Their clients range from those who just have limited mobility in their hands, to those who rely on their carers to dress them each day.
Our speaker today was Sharon Tombs who manages a dedicated set of seamstresses who produce bespoke alterations and modifications to clothing of their clients.
Their imagination and expertise helps their clients to dress (or be dressed) more comfortably which also boost confidence. Each individual has their own particular requirements.“Some people need alternative fastening to zips and buttons. Others may require wider openings for ease of dressing. Sometimes we have to approach the problem from a completely different angle. From overcoats to underwear, there are ways to adapt clothing to meet the needs of each individual.”
