Thu, Aug 27th 2015 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Club member gives talk on local issue

President Mairhi Trickett welcomed members to last week's meeting of the Rotary Club to hear one of their members Councillor Ron Smith explain the operation of the new recycling centre to be put in place at Mansfield Road at a cost of £300,000.  In a detailed talk he showed how the operation works for the benefit of workers and users alike.  He also touched on the plans for waste disposal when the Langlee centre at Galashiels closes and waste will have to be transported outwith the Region.  The talk prompted many questions and a lively discussion after which Bob Kellett gave the vote of thanks.
