Every year the Rotary Club of Tywyn (the club) celebrate the granting of the club charter by holding an event at which the achievements of the club during the previous year can be remembered and celebrated.
This year, instead of the traditional dinner at a local restaurant, President
Stephanie Purcell organized a dinner dance at the Neuadd Dyfi in Aberdyfi where
42 Rotarians and guests enjoyed a very enjoyable and entertaining evening at a
comfortable and welcoming venue.
An excellent 3-course dinner was prepared by Trevor and Lisa Humphries of Crasdyr Gader, Dolgellau ably assisted by two local ladies. During dinner, President Stephanie welcomed the guests and thanked everyone who had helped the club achieve another very successful year of fellowship and service to the community. The District Governor Chris Sumner was then invited to give his address in which he highlighted the importance to the area of the work of the club and especially for organizing “Race The Train’.
After dinner the guests were treated to a highly entertaining evening of music
and dancing by Paul Ace of ‘Paul Ace Music’ to finish off the night, by singing
50’s Rock ‘N’ Roll numbers that created a swinging party atmosphere with well
known popular dance songs of the period.
