GATEWAY SPORTS DAY AT BROCK COLLEGE 3rd OCTOBER 2015
The annual Gateway Sports Day was held on Saturday 3rd October at Brockenhurst College and New Forest Rotary Club under the leadership of Rtn Ken Garrod, were very much involved in the support, organisation and supervision of the enthusiastic participants in the day’s activities. Rotarian helpers were:- Ken and Sue Garrod, Ian Bennett, Sue Gully, Mike Clark, John Bloomfield and Jim Knight. Ray Dawes was there in the background recording events with his camera.
This year there were 9 teams from various Gateway Clubs in the County and around 100 participants took part in the range of activities. The Master of Ceremonies was Ryan Stevens from Brockenhurst College and he as usual ensured everything ran without a hitch. After the fun and games, everyone was presented with a medal by a diminutive and delightful young lady called Jessica. The trophies for the winning teams were presented by Mike Snell CBE chairman of Brockenhurst Gateway Club who was host club for the event.
It is important to note that the event and the enjoyment of the Gateway members depends very much on the financial and physical help from our club – long may it continue.
The winning teams who all received rapturous applause were -
CHAMPIONS’ SHIELD won by Andover “Richard’s Team”.
NEW FOREST ROTARY CUP which was for the team that demonstrated the best team spirit on the day and was won by Andover Senior Gateway “Sandra’s Team”
