President Lesley Kennedy welcomed 13 other members, including birthday boy Dave Campbell.
Youth Service convener Adam Muggoch gave an update on the various youth competitions planned for the current rotary year.
The Young Chef competition will be held in Hermitage Academy on Tuesday November 3, and the club's own Young Baker competition will be at the Academy on Tuesday February 2.
The official Rotary Young Musician competition for S5 pupils will be held in December, while the club will stage its own competition for S1-S4 in the spring.
Prizes have now been obtained — by Adam — for the two local winners in last year's Young Photographer District 1230 competition, and this year's event is on the theme "Our World Is Beautiful" and must be completed by March 7. The same deadline applies to the Young Writer event.
International convener Douglas Dow reported that Nigeria had now declared itself free of polio, which only now remains in part of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Ron Dunachie — who made the draw.
