The Rotary Club of Senlac held its annual Christmas party at the Highwoods Golf Club in Bexhill on 16 December when members and guests enjoyed a three course Christmas menu.

Rotarian Glyn’s Years Taking Off

Rotarian and retired RAF Officer Glyn Parry has achieved 25 years of Rotary service. To mark the occasion Glyn was presented with a Long Service certificate by Senlac Rotary president, Roger Young, at the club’s recent Christmas dinner.

Following his retirement from the RAF in 1989 after 33 service he and his wife, Margaret, moved to Hertfordshire where he had found employment in Stevenage. Wanting to do things for the local community he joined the Rotary Club of Amwell based in Hertford. There he served on a number of committees and, through the International committee, was involved in two projects to bring water to slum villages around the India town of Belgaum. For his work he was awarded the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship.

Glyn and his wife returned to their home county of Sussex in 2012 and Glyn transferred to the Rotary Club of Senlac where he is currently vice president prior to taking over the club’s presidency in June 2016.
