80th Charter Anniversary Dinner

Mon, Feb 29th 2016 at 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Kettering Park Hotel (The Rutland Suite)
(Stewards : Mike Charmberlain / David Billson)

President Philip Douglas and members of the Rotary Club of Wellingborough are very much looking forward to celebrating our 80th Charter this year. It may seem rather premature to be sending out information about our Charter Night so far in advance of the date but we are especially excited by the early acceptance to attend our Charter Dinner from not only our own District Governor, Rotarian Geoff Blurton and his wife Heather from the Rotary Club of Kettering, but also the Rotary GB&I President for 2015-16, Rotarian Peter Davey and his wife Sandra who are both members of the Rotary Club of Monmouth in Wales.

This will be a rare opportunity to welcome the Rotary GB&I President to our District in the congenial surroundings of a Charter Night and to hear him speak. We hope, therefore, that you will make a note of the date in your diaries and in due course, during the autumn, we will be sending out formal invitations for you and your Rotary Club to attend on what is the singular date in any leap year of 29th February 2016.

Those Rotarians who regularly attend our Charter Night will know that we have been holding them for some years now at the Wellingborough Golf Club at Great Harrowden Hall.  This, however, has restrictions on numbers and it is for this reason, and the expectations of raised interest from the presence of the Rotary GB&I President, that we are moving to the splendid Rutland Suite at the Kettering Park Hotel & Spa just 6 miles from Wellingborough. This venue is adjacent to, and readily accessible from junction 9 of the A14 dual carriageway.  Also, because of the larger numbers which can be accommodated here we will be extending our invitations to husbands, wives and partners of Rotarians.

We hope that you will be able to join us.
