Sep 2015 Girton Memory Cafe - St Vincents Close

Fri, Sep 4th 2015 at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

All Welcome. Our fifty-fifth event. Theme Harvest on the Farm.

Todays theme was Harvest and Harvesting on the Farm.  We were delighted to welcome Sam Clift as guest speaker.  He chatted about his life as a child on a Fen farm and treated us to his wonderful collection of rural hats amongst his humerous anecdotes !  Our Entertainers sang a lively selection of cheerful old songs including 'We plough the fields and scatter', 'John Barleycorn' and many others. Our very own Rotary bard - Vicky Burman - gave us a poem to read out too.  Tasty homemade cakes were on offer of course with hot drinks served with a smile !

Helpers start at 9am please.
