Robin Mason: District Quiz

Wed, Nov 25th 2015 at 7:00 pm - 9:20 pm

A 'home' round in the inter-club District Quiz (Bowl Competition!) Note meeting this week is on Wednesday, not Thursday.

Past President Sandy Bannerman welcomed members to last week's meeting of the Rotary Club which included Harald Willner, Kingston-upon-Thames Rotary Club and 5 Kelso Rotarians.  A round of the Rotary District quiz took place with Allan McCredie the quizmaster.  Kelso was represented by Anne Wright, Blair McDonald, Andrew Veitch and Gordon Euman and the Hawick team was Gus Neilson, Ron Smith, Ron Sutherland and Tommy Mulvee and Kelso ran out winners 26-22.  Last week the President's Night was held in Mansfield Clubrooms and, after a lovely meal, President Mairhi welcomed Presidents from other Border clubs and guests to hear an excellent address by Ian Landles in his usual inimitable and humourous style.  He was accompanied by his wife Margaret.  The recent Xmas gift box scheme resulted in over 90 boxes being dispatched to Eastern Europe families and the club want to thank all those who assisted especially the congregation of Teviot Church.
