Raffle - Drew Graham.
Reception - Grainger Falconer / Eric Proven.

On Thursday 21st April, the Rotary Club of South Queensferry's Annual Photographic Competition took place at the Hawes Inn. After a splendid meal, members, partners and guests enjoyed viewing 120 pictures submitted by some twenty Rotarians and their family members. As always the standard was high and entries ranged from highly atmospheric landscapes to quirky subjects often showing much humour. This year the competition was judged by Alistair Pryde of Words in Pictures in Queensferry. He summed up the winners as great examples of what can be accomplished  using talent and imagination and technical ability. First prize, the Robert Cleland MBE Memorial Quaich, went to Martin Prentice who had achieved the shot of a lifetime with a magnificently moody night view of lightning behind the Forth Rail Bridge. He received a beautifully framed print of his picture courtesy of Words in Pictures. Martin also scooped the second prize of a bottle of whisky. Third prize of a hand-crafted pen went to Rotarian Graham Clarkson. In her closing remarks,  President Kate Gibb thanked everyone who had made such a delightful evening possible: those who had submitted pictures, Alistair for Judging and Rotarian Grainger Falconer for organising the competition and preparing all the entries for exhibition.
