Junior Vice-President Gordon Burgess welcomed ten other members and guest Ernest Bennie, president of the Helensburgh Garelochside club.
Ernest said the clubs should continue to explore ways to help each other, and have more joint meetings.
He invited members to the Garelochside meeting in the Rosslea Hall Hotel, Rhu, on Monday at 6.30pm, when the speaker at an informal meeting will be Ian Dickson, who is looking for accommodation for a party of Canadian rotarians who will be in the area in August for a week. Anyone wishing to attend should alert Ernest or Sheenah Nelson before Monday.
John McCormick gave a comprehensive update of developments on roads, buses, ferries and trains throughout Britain. He said that rail use had more than doubled this century, and Scotrail was up 7.3% on the previous year. He showed an artist's impression of what Glasgow Queen Street High Level Station will look like when the major improvement project is completed in 2019, and said that the present tunnel shutdown is to allow new tracks to be laid.
Donald Fullarton proposed the vote of thanks, and the weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Gordon Burgess.
