Maurice took us on a trip downd memory lane with a talk centred on buses of times gone that used to travel through the Dales. A few of his photographs are shown above.
Maurice is the secretary of the National Vintage Tractor Club West Yorkshire Group. He has spoken to the club previously on transport related topics.
Below are the 10 commandments from the Teactor Club web site: -
The Tractor Collectors 10 Commandments
1 Thou shalt not store your tractor outdoors, except the modern stuff.
2 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s tractor, workshop or battery charger.
3 Thou shall not read Tractor & Machinery or Classic Tractor in works time, for it is thy employer who makes it possible to keep up the subscriptions.
4 Thou shalt not love thy tractor more than thy wife (as much, but not more).
5 Thou shalt not despise thy neighbours John Deere, nor his Farmall or even his Grey Fergie.
6 Thou shalt not allow thy sons or daughters to get married (or produce grandchildren) during the holy days of the rally season.
7 Thou shalt not deceive thy wife by taking her on a romantic Sunday drive, when it’s actually a Tractor Road Run.
8 Thou shalt not promise thy wife a conservatory and then keep the Grey Fergie in it.
9 Thou shalt not tell thy wife the entire cost of the restoration, at least not all at the same time.
10 Thou shall not buy the wife a trolley jack for her birthday!
