This week our speaker is Peter Warburton who is visiting us to talk about Micro loans.
Our weekly where we have a 2 course meal + coffee at the Sportsman Inn, and with a speaker afterwards.
This week we have Peter Warburton talking about micro loans. These have been offered by Rotary within areas such as Nepal and Sri Lanka after natural disasters as a "hand up not a hand out". The basis that these loans are granted is quite simply:-
- No interest is charged
- No security is taken
- No legal action will ensue in the event of default
Peter will give us a more indepth view of how they help people.
