On March 31st 2016 the Aberdeen Deeside Rotary Club awarded two pupils from Cults Academy the title of Young Musician of the Year for the school. The awards took the form of a £50 music voucher each.
The school held a wonderfully impressive Spring showcase concert featuring all manner of musical talent. The Young Musician awards were presented to Liam Dyker and Cameron Wilson who were adjudged by members of the school staff to be the most outstanding, talented and hardest working musical pupils throughout the year.
Liam entertained us with singing, piano playing and conducting the orchestra while Cameron performed a masterful solo of ‘The Flight of the Bumblebee’ on his Glockenspiel and very complicated drum solo, as well as performing in the orchestra.
The Aberdeen Deeside Rotary Club Youth and Vocational Convenor John Whitfield presented the awards. Several other Rotary club members also attended this wonderful entertaining musical evening.
