Frome College Mock Interviews 2016

Frome College Mock Interviews 16th-17th March 2016

On 16th and 17th March each of the 250 students in Year 10 at Frome Community College were given a mock interview.  The students presented a cv and were interviewed for 15 minutes by a panel of two employers.  There were twenty six panels in operation over the two days. The interview was followed by an informal discussion between the employers and the student on the outcome of the interview.  On the second day of the interviews an excellent lunch was provided for the employers by the Hospitality students as in important part of their course.

The mock interviews were set up by Frome Rotary Club in 2010 and organised by the Club for the first 5 years during which time it became part of the Year 10 curriculum. There are now over 90 interviewers on the register who are prepared to give their time to supporting these young people.  Although still supported and sponsored by the Club, in 2015 the organisation was transferred to “Next Steps”, a partnership between Frome College and Frome Town Council whose motto is “Linking Education and Employment”.

The scheme is now in its 7th year and is very highly regarded by employers, staff and by the participating students.  Frome Rotary Club is proud to have set up a scheme which should benefit many young people in the future.
