Thu, Apr 28th 2016 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Weekly meeting with guest speaker

At last week's meeting of the Rotary Club President Mairhi Trickett reported that the Cookery Demonstration held last Friday night raised £760.12p which is being split between The Friends of the Community Hospital and local Rotary charities.  It was also agreed to donate £50 to the Children's Book Award for primary school pupils and £100 to Hawick in Bloom.  Past President Bobby Cairns introduced the speaker Jake Coltman who showed slides from his huge collection of postcards of "Auld Hawick" from the first half of the last century together with interesting anecdotes which generated many questions and reflections.  The vote of thanks was given by the President.
