Sometime ago, on 11 February 2016, I was made very welcome at a pack meeting of the 1StCatisfield Scouts, Fareham - getting a freshly cooked & very tasty pancake from the Cub Scouts - who were all slaving over hot pans!

But my main purpose was to give them a cheque for the money they collected using our Christmas sleigh around the streets in Fareham – a magnificent £1036 - more than double last years total! Photo shows the presentation to Lesley, the Cub Scouts Pack Leader. Chairman Andrew said that this will go towards the continuing refurbishment of their hut & facilities – bringing in toilets from outside and a kitchen – enabling this to be used for more local community activities as well – much needed in the area.

It was also a great privilege to be present when several Beavers (6 – 8 year olds), with their proud parents, moved up to the Cub Scout group ( 8 – 10.5 years old).

I was very impressed with the dedication of the Scout Leaders & the fun all the scouts were having. This is a thriving pack with a waiting list. We are really pleased that they have been able to use our sleigh for several years now & raised some £5000 to help with this great community project.
