Activity: Fellowship Weekend & Organised Walk. – Saturday 14thMay         Location: Isle of Thanet

Who might be harmed?Members and Guests  General: All participants are responsible for their own safety by following reasonable instructions from the organiser.

Note:- All members and guests are responsible for there own safety whilst in the confines of the Botany Bay Hotel or whilst undertaking individual activities in and around the Broadstairs & Margate area.  They are also responsible for there own safety whilst travelling to and from Broadstairs

John Cooper and Mike Barton have undertaken a trial walk to determine suitability for the anticipated group who will walk on the day

Group briefing before the start of the walk to highlight any hazards given weather conditions on the day

inappropriate walking equipment

All participants will be advised prior to the event to wear suitable clothing and footwear dependent upon the prevailing conditions.

Additional notice at the briefing regarding walking equipment and weather conditions.  Any walker without suitable equipment will be advised not to walk. Responsibility will be in their own hands if they so choose to walk.

Group will be advised that there are points where the walk will be alongside and cross minor public roads.  Care must be taken when not on a designated footpath

Advise all walkers of potential risks at pre walk briefing.  Special attention by MB & JC to marshal short sections of minor roads without footpaths.
