Rotakids support Mary's Meals

80 backpacks filled and ready to go to the Mary's Meals charity.

Two years ago Brora Primary began supporting the Mary's Meals charity where backpacks are filled with clothing, school equipment and toiletries.  The initiative was led by the p2/3 teacher at the time- Mrs Shelly Taylor.55 back packs were filled.  Last year they continued on with the p6/7 Rotakids taking over the initiative.  They gained more support from the local thrift shop and 61 back packs were filled.  Now we routinely remind everyone to keep their old school bags and pencil cases if getting new ones, the Thrift shop collects all year round and more children than ever are contributing so with the help of Rotakids organising, an excellent 80 back packs are filled waiting for uplift this week.  Headteacher Dawn McKenzie says, “Supporting Mary’s Meals is a great opportunity for the children to make a difference and be part of a global effort, as is required to be a Rotakid.”
