On Sunday 29th May 3 intrepid members of Cambuslang Rotary Club (Bob, Tony and Nigel) spent the afternoon planting summer bedding plants in the barrels and "train" at Cambuslang Station. Cambuslang Rotary Club adopted the station some 4 years ago and since then there has always been an excellent floral display. For Summer 2016, a selection of large begonias of different colours have been planted in the barrels as well as geraniums in the train.
Why were they intrepid? Because every time Cambuslang Rotary Club members have had a planting session, this has signalled the start of a monsoon! However on this occasion the sun shone and the only monsoon was when Nigel lost control of the tap while filling a watering can and got soaked!
Over the summer members of the club will continue to look after and water the plants so that there is a good dispay to go with the Community Council's hanging baskets in the Main Street.
