Fairtrade - Catherine Sygrove

Thu, Sep 22nd 2016 at 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

"The Power is in Your Hands ..."

Catherine gave us an informative talk, drawing out the many strands of fair trade around the world. She is a member of BAFTS - the British Association of Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers and emphasised that fair trade is not just about commodities such as tea and coffee that we are all familiar with – it includes many other products and crafts sourced from “fair trade” suppliers and sold in “fair trade” shops. Catherine works out of the shop based in St. Nicholas church, here in Durham.
