The Senlac Classic Car Show Cheque Presentation

Wed, Aug 24th 2016 at 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Profits from the Senlac Classic Car Show will be distributed to selected charities and The Yellowmen

Proceeds from the 2016 Classic Car Show and Craft Fayre, the 24th, were distributed to four local charities at a dinner on 24th August 2016. Some 60 Rotarians and guests attended the presentation dinner held at the Cooden Beach Hotel.

Linda Fern, acting for the absent President, Glyn Parry, who is recovering from a recent knee replacement, thanked Dave Miles, the car show organiser, and his committee for putting on such a successful show. Dave said how much he appreciated all the help and highlighted the contributions made by Pat Connor and Marcia amongst others; he was delighted with the press coverage and thanked Lynda Turner of the Observers. He was so pleased that the show had broken the records for profits and attendance and we would able to help local charities.

Donations were handed out on the evening to:-

Tracey Luker and Louise Collins for the Chestnut Tree Hospice for Children,

Bernard Duncan and Denis Bass for the East Sussex Motor Neurone Group

Paul Harris and Patsy Walker for Charity for Kidz and

to Iain Robinson for The Yellowmen of Kadongdong (Senlac Rotary’s own charity for work in Kenya)

Each of the recipients gave a brief summary of how the money would be spent in their organisation.

Following the presentations to the charities Lynda announced the winner of the Wendy Cocker Award for Endeavour, Ollie Jeffs, of the Pelham Community Hub.
