Providing a safe and stimulating environment for people living with dementia
Please note that the Memory Cafe meetings have been suspended until further notice during the current coronavirus (Covid-19) restrictions. We sincerely hope that all our guests and their families stay safe and well during this difficult period.
The Wirksworth Memory Cafe is jointly sponsored by Wirksworth Rotary and the Wellspring Church. It is run entirely by volunteers from the local community. The aim of the Memory Cafe is to provide a safe and stimulating environment for people living with dementia.
It meets on the second Monday of every month at the Wellspring Church, St. John's Street, Wirksworth from 2pm to 4pm. Afternoon tea is provided and guests are invited to participate in craft activities and table and floor games. The afternoon is brought to a close with a sing-along which always proves popular with everyone.
Carers are welcome to come along, although their presence is not essential as their loved ones are well cared for by our volunteers. There is no charge for attendance, but donations are very welcome. All donations are divided equally between the Wirksworth Rotary (Memory Cafe) and the Wellspring Church. New members are always welcome.
For further information, or to make a donation, please contact Ruth Fantom on 01629 825639 or Barbara Wilson on 01629 823210 or come along on the day.
