After match cameraderie! (Who won?)
Cribbage for beginners.
After a 30 year lay off John and Colin entered the Rotary Crib pairs competition with some trepidation – away to sometime Competition winners Greenford – a long journey for both of us.
Past President Walter and Malcolm collected us at the station and took us home for wine and refreshments before the kickoff – late start 8.30pm. Each player played the opposing two, best of three. We had a revisionary friendly before the match. Our team went one down, then we drew even before surging ahead with a three one result. No one was more surprised than us! On to the second round home to Edmonton. In the unlikely event of a victory we expect the club to finance an open top bus tour of Tower Hamlets to the cheers of a flag waving crowd!
Great hospitality and a really good friendship experience that only Rotary can give. I arrived home at 12.45am!
