May 2016 - Weekend visit to Dunkeld.

Club members enjoy a visit to Blair Castle

Friday 13th was maybe not the most auspicious day to start a Rotary weekend away but it certainly turned out to be lucky for the ten of us who headed off to the newly independent Dunkeld House Hotel.  President Bill and wife Alison managed to get the best suite in the hotel with beautiful views out over the River Tay - the perfect spot to host some pre-dinner drinks!  The hotel provided an excellent 3 course dinner served by our charming waiter Christian, from Hungary.

Saturday saw us head off to Blair Castle, where we enjoyed a tour of the castle with the very knowledgeable head guide Mo (a Glaswegian of course!) and a chance to explore the extensive gardens.  David Brown's shiny new Caterham attracted as many photographers as the castle!  Even the weather was good to us with sunshine all weekend. Sunday saw us head back to Glasgow feeling relaxed and refreshed after a most enjoyable  2 days in the beautiful Perthshire countryside.  Many thanks to President Bill for organising the trip.
