Working with the young people in our Community

Young Writer and Young Photographer are competitions we organise each year to encourage 7 to 11 year olds in local schools to write and take photographs using their imagination

Rotary Young Photographer winner 2019

We have run, for 8 years, a Young Writer competition. See how we do it in a video from the 2012 competition.

2019 had over 200 entrants with a very high standard for the Young Writer and the Young Photographer competition was equally remarkable.

Young Writer and Young Photographer - 2019

A great night at Four Marks Village Hall, as young local talent gained recognition. More than fifty pupils of Bentworth, Chawton, Four Marks and Medstead schools received awards for their writing skills and/or their photography talents. More than 300 had entered the Young Writer and Young Photographer competitions organised by Four Marks and Medstead Rotary. There were special congratulations for Arlo Freer of Bentworth School. His written entry on the theme of the Beauty of Nature also won the first prize at the Wessex regional competition and the second prize at the national level against entries from all over Britain and Ireland. He received his award from Rotary president Phil Talbot. So "Well Done" to all fifty local winners.
