Rotary Olympics: Golf

Thu, Aug 4th 2016 at 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The Hawick Club's annual golf tournament.

The winning team in the 2016 event, with President Jim Walker

For the past two weeks the Rotary Club has been going outdoors for the annual sports events.  The first week was a bowls match arranged at Wilton Bowling Club but the weather put paid to that and a domino flyer was held instead in the clubrooms before retiring to Thorterdykes for a meal.  Thanks are due to Wilton Bowling Club for hosting the event.  Last week it was golf at Minto Golf Club when the winning team was David Oliver, Sandy Bannerman, Iain Smith and Ron Sutherland.  A golf dice game after the meal saw Past President Billy McWatters, MBE., come out victorious.  Appreciation is due to Minto Golf Club for accommodating the event which was enjoyed by 14 members.
