A vocational talk by Aly Wood

A veritable potpourri of Rotary happenings was served up at the weekly lunch meeting of the Club on Tuesday. Arrangements are in hand for Rotarians to host 30 senior ciitzens from various residential homes in the area at the weekly lunch next week - with good musical entertainment to follow. Members were pleased to hear of 14 Adam Smith College students lending a hand, big time, in the rigg garden behind the  Merchant’s House at Law\s Close. Kirkcaldy West Primary School emerged as winners at Rotary’s area Primary School Quiz when 11 schools competed recently at Balwearie High School. (Kirkcaldy now go forward to the finals at Aberdeen). In the wider Rotary world, members learned that in Rotary's drive to eliminate polio worldwide across three decades or so, Rotarians worldwide have raised the staggering sum of £1.5 billion pounds. The long established Rotary ideal of ‘service above self’, local and international is still upheld.
