Tuesday 27th June was Presidential Handover Day at the Kirkcaldy Rotary Club. Outgoing President Mark Rossiter handed over to President Elect Dallas Mechan. Dallas has been a member of the Club for 14 years and was one of first two female members. Dallas becomes the 96th president of the Club and the second female President. The District Moto for the year is ‘Making a Difference’.

There were 35 members in attendance and one guest.

President Mark mentioned how it had been a busy few weeks with a lot of activity at the schools, there was a 1st anniversary of the new school at Rosslyn, prizegiving at Viewforth and a fantastic play at Balwearie.

Mark summed up his year as President and thanked the past presidents for their support and guidance throughout the year. Mark highlighted how the Club works with children in many diverse activities from supporting quiz shows to the opportunities offered through Ryla and Euroscola.

Special thanks were given to the secretaries who had stepped in and kept the club running smoothly at short notice.

Dallas expanded on the moto ‘Making a Difference’ and reiterated that it need not be significant difference every little helps and in fact we all already do so much which collectively really does make a significant difference. Dallas looks forward to her year as President and working with Senior Vice President Robert Main and Junior Vice President Sharon  Munro.
