Schools rebuilt in Sri Lanka thanks to Rotary

Rotary in Sri Lanka - supported by Rotarians throughout the world (including us in District 1200) - have committed to a project called 'Schools re-awaken' which will eventually rebuilt 25 of the 60 schools devastated in the Tsunami disaster.

This is a map showing the devastated area affected by the Tsunami

Randombe School (below) on the south coast in Galle has 18 teachers & 264 students of primary & secondary age. It was the first of the 25 schools to be rebuilt as part of the 'Schools re-awaken' project

The 2nd school to be rebuilt is Al-Aqsa school in Ampara on the east coast. It has 25 teachers and 504 students of both primary & secondary age.
