David Hastings told us about the work of the Lifeboat service.

An interesting talk from David. He told us how, as a deck officer in the merchant navy, he was involved in two quite separate incidents which involved him being rescued by ships' lifeboats. These experiences made him very aware of the importance of an effective lifeboat service. Now in retirement he has become an active fund-raiser for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute.

See the RNLI Website ... and be amazed at the frequency of the launches!
