Naomi Riches (London 2012 Paralympic Gold Medallist) has taken on the challenge of setting a new Guinness World Record as the fastest woman to row down theThames in a single scull, 165 miles from Lechlade to Gravesend Royal Pier. Inorder to do this she must row all 165 miles in under 50 hours.She is undertaking this mammoth challenge to raise awareness and support for INvisiona charity which aims to further research into Infantile Nystagmus which affects 1 in 1000 children. it is possible to view the planned time sheet, listing where Naomi will be and when.In order to complete the challenge, Naomi must pass through each lock in less than 6 minutes.

Club members from Reading Abbey, Loddon Vale and Pangbourne were at Sonning Lock on Sunday 18th to help. Naomi took 5mins to pass through the lock.

Naomi has finished in a time of 47 hours 59 minutes and 54 seconds!
