Crocus Planting for End Polio Campaign

A group of 22 pupils  from  Rowanfield  Junior School had an enjoyable  afternoon  planting 2000 purple  crocuses just before starting  their half term break.  A design of a  Rotary wheel with the  words END POLIO NOW and  ROTARY had been carefully cut out of the  turf by a small group  of our Rotations  during

the  morning.

The  Children were all very enthusiastic and excited  doing the planting, one  little  lad being  heard to declare " this is  the best  day in school ever! ". They were  all  presented  with a purple crocus  for  their effort  and a leaflet explaining  what the END POLIO  CAMPAIGN  is all about. They now have a long  wait to see the  results  of their  efforts when  the flowers  bloom in February
