Whenever there is a fifth Monday in the month, we try to make the evening a bit more special and Rotarians' partners are invited to join us. A recent one was a great evening at the Emsworth Sailing Club on Halloween 2016. Excellent meal and service from the Sailing Club staff topped off by a superb presentation about the recovery of the Mary Rose and its installation into the museum in Portsmouth Dockyard made the evening one to remember. Our speaker from the Mary Rose Trust provided a real insider’s view – he was one of the original archaeological team who dived on the wreck. He provided us with a slide show of personal images of the historical activity involved in recovering the skeleton of the ship, its treatment and restoration and views of the current magnificent museum, opened again this July to show the ship off in a more open and accessible display.
