Stroke Awareness Day in Bexhill-on-Sea
Senlac Rotarians took to the street on Saturday, 28thOctober and attempted to persuade passers-by to have their blood pressure checked by a team of St John’s Ambulance volunteers. High blood pressure is a common cause for strokes and can be symptomatic of other health problems such as heart disease. 71 people were checked, seven of whom were advised to see a doctor immediately and one who was advised to visit the hospital. Rotarian Peter Cocker, the organiser for the club, was delighted with the day and expressed his thanks to St John’s Ambulance Brigade for undertaking the testing and providing advice and to Barraclough’s for providing the premises.
