Supporting Malton Food Bank

Rotary members visit the Food Bank, Castlegate, Malton with donation

Peter Drabble and Terry Tasker, two Malton Rotarians, make a donation to our local Food Bank charity on Castlegate. Food banks work by the community donating non-perishable in date food which is then sorted and packed into boxes.

A wide rang of professionals, such as doctors, health visitors, social workers and the police identify people in crisis and they are then issued with food vouchers.  Foodbank clients bring their vouchers to the foodbank centre where it can be redeemed for three days emergency food.   Volunteers meet clients over a drink or free hot meal and are able to signpost people to agencies able to serve long term problems

There are three Food Banks in Ryedale(two of them in Pickering) and they can be contacted through their website or by phone at 01653 697796.
